DGNB Gold and Diamond
As design consultant for DTU, Norconsult has helped to realise a building where sustainability is a visible part of the building's narrative. B112 is sustainability certified with DGNB Gold, as well as a DGNB-Diamond award
A building that reflects the research's focus on sustainability
The users of the new laboratory building B112 have received a building that reflects the building's core activity – research on recycling and utilisation. The building houses an R3 (Resource Research Recovery Platform) platform for research on recycling and utilization of residual resources, such as waste, residues, manure and construction waste.
Project solutions
The new building on 3 floors + 1 technical floor will mainly be landscaped with common areas / offices to the south, larger laboratories to the north and a support zone in between with functions such as locks and engine rooms. We have used LCA and total economic analysis (LCC) as design tools in an integrated, holistic design process.
The project's mission
The client's mission was for the buildings to contain state-of-the-art conditions for receiving, handling and reprocessing residues, a process laboratory where materials are converted into new material resources, nutrients or energy from a sustainability perspective.
